Ruins of Myth Drannor
The Fellowship's second sortie into the ruins starts well, as they sneak and use invisibility spells to stay out of danger. However, they fail to locate the Temple of Oghma. They encounter some devils who seems able to see them even invisible. After a tough battle, they are forced to retreat out of the ruins for rest and recuperation.
That night, they have all strange dreams about a mysterious face in a fog. The next day, they return to the ruins. After som hours of investigation, they run in to a battle with two devils which looks like a cross between a human and a fly. After a very hard and almost lethal battle, they are once again forced to retreat out of the city to rest and regain spells. The following day they return to the ruins again, bent on finding the Temple of Oghma. Instead they finds the entrance to a strange dungeon complex. They search the complex and discovers a gate which Sparrow steps through. Forced to follow, the others steps through the gate. On the other side, they discovers themselves to be in the High Forest, as far as they can determine.
They spend the rest of the day and night there, to teleport back to Cormanthor the next morning. During the night, they all have disturbing dreams about a foggy face which asks if "Are you the ones?". Well back in Cormanthor, they enter Myth Drannor once again, and goes down into the newly discovered complex. They search the complex once again, but fails to find anything of interest.
When they exits the complex and continues searching the ruins, they discover a strange pool surrounded by fog. Above the pool hovers a huge facial mask surrounded by a dozen obvious magic blades. The face asks them the question: "Are you the ones? Are you the great heroes who will save Myth Drannor?" They answer yes and are given a sword each. They try to get some more information from the face, but to no avail.
As soon as they begin to walk away from the pool, they are ambushed by a large force of humanoids, including trolls, ogres, orcs, hobgoblins, bugbears and humans (the companions finds the composition of their attackers strange). To make matters even worse, a few devils decides to enter the fray. During this battle, the Fellowship seems lost, when a strange maiden appears and helps the companions to defeat their foes. Unfortunately, Callista dies to the claws of a devil. However, the strange maiden guides them outside the ruins, where she resurrects Callista. Unknown to the group, the strange maiden is an avatar of Mielikki. The Supreme Ranger gives Callista a quest, and then disappears into the forest. The quest given Callista is to find a scepter in Myth Drannor and give it to someone she deems worthy of it. The fellowship rests the rest of the day, laying out new plans for the next sortie into the ruins. They spends the next day identifying the items they have found so far, and the blades they recieved were mighty indeed, a defender long sword, a short sword which causes further damage to magic-users, a luck-blade with four wishes and a long sword made to slay reptiles.
When they enter Myth Drannor this day, they do so from the north (they have entered from the south all other times). Scouting the northern ruins, they come upon a beleagered group of Lathanderite knights. Jumping to the aid of the Lathanderites, they manages to save Baerant Telcharr, Sub-prior of the Dawnspire. They are invited by Baerant to the temple, which they accept. Well in the Dawnspire, Baerant thanks them and hands them over to "Check name". The Fellowship enjoys the temple's hospitality and spends a few hours there, learning the purpose of the Lathanderites. They spend the night there, to continue their search for this mysterious scepter the next day. Sweeping through the north-west area of the city, one of the ruined buildings catches Callista's interest. She convinces the others to help search the ruin. After an hour of digging (and a battle with some wandering monsters), they find a strange-looking scepter. After this find, they go back to the Symbaern crypt to take leave of Ilrune. They spend a night in Cormanthor before they teleport back to Shadowdale.
