Lyam - Amongst family and enemies

Lyam plans to spend time with his family, but the first day of his vacation he is reminded of the harsh reality of the world. He is out walking with his child Serdon in the woods around Shadowdale, when they are attacked by three thugs. Although he is only carrying his dagger Foefinder, he manages to fend of the attackers and take one prisoner. From this bandit he learns only that a man in shadows hired the three bandits to kidnap Serdon. Lyam becomes very careful after this, installing traps in his home and making sure that Serdon is never left alone.
Lyam mixes his time between research and being with his family. He researches the spells Enchanting Music and Flame Dagger, and trains dagger fighting with Storm. This study and practice for him continues to late Marpenoth.
On Marpenoth 25, Lyam receives a letter. This letter tells him to travel to Tilverton with 10,000 gold coins if he ever wants to see his sister Sinnlyvone again. He is to be in the Flagon Held High,Tilverton, in the evening of Uktar 15. There he will receive further instructions. He becomes very angry for this, but keeps his cool. When Callista arrives the next morning, he asks her if she wants to help him free Sinnlyvonne. She stares angrily at him, and tells him that "of course I will help you, woodskull!". They agree to await Richardīs return before they decides anything.
Callista decides to study magic, as she has a few days on her hands until they will leave for Tilverton.
