Callista - Studies and discoveries

Callista leaves Shadowdale almost immediately, heading toward the secret temple of Mielikki at the Fall of Tumbling Stars. There she informs the Hawk of the Lady Neretheen Jalassan about what happened in the Moonshaes, and then met the Needle Veristan Hanalather. Veristan acted as Callistas teacher in how to harness the forest magic of the Lady. She spent almost a month here, before she continued toward Moonrise Hill. Well at home, she begins to clean up her parents home. She finds a strangely-marked hunting horn that she has never seen before, and stuffs it into her backpack.

When she has finished her cleaning, which takes a couple of days, she travels south to Highmoon. There she visits her old friend Shaunil, and begins to read the magical grimoire that she was given by Relumar. She spends three months reading it, and afterward she has learned a great lot more about magic. She decides that she will continue her magical studies, and leaves for Shadowdale.

A few days before she leaves for Shadowdale, she discovers that the horn is magical and blows it. Nothing happens, and she gives it no regard. When she has left Highmoon, and is camping in the woods, a strange ship looking like a fish appears above the trees. She investigates the ship, and finds a ships log with her father´s writing. Unfortunately, it is coded. She suspects that the gem-adorned throne she found is the item that powers the ship, as Lyam has told her a few things about spelljamming ships. After many attempts she manages to move the ship, but it goes forward slowly and sluggishly. She manages to steer it to Moonrise Hill, where she is exhausted and sleeps in her home. When she awakes the next day, she notices that she has slept over. The whole village is abuzz with the fish-ship, and she continues further by horse. But the ship follows her. She moves around all settlements she knows about, in order to avoid too much attention.

As she nears Shadowdale, Elminster appears out of thin air. Callista explains what little she has discovered, and he advices her to blow the horn again. She does as he says, and the ship flies away up into the sky. She is very disturbed by this strange occurence, and gives Elminster a lift back to Shadowdale. She asks Elminster if he can tell her about this ship, and he agrees to do so later, when he has more time for such things.

Arriving in Shadowdale, she visits Storm. She sleps at Storm´s house, and the next morning (Marpenoth 25), she walks over to Lyam´s home. Lyam tells her about the kidnapping of his sister, and asks her if she wants to help him. They agree to await Richard´s return before deciding what to do.
