The Battle of Darkhorn Castle

This really pissed the Harpers, who quickly advanced upon the Castle. They sneaked inside and with much finesse and magic, they laid low the opposition they met. During their search of the ruins, they discovered a secret entrance that was below the dungeons, an entrance that the Cultists apparently had not ventured down in. The band entered, and after killing a dark-misted undead, they found a torc of mighty magic. The torc was so powerful that it damaged the one who wore or held it.
They were very tired by now, and went to sleep in a secured room. At sunset, they decided to march for Myrloch Vale, although they felt that they could never make it in time unless they used magic to get there. Richard changed shape into a falcon and speeded toward the mountains they could see in the west. However, he came only some 25-30 miles before he discovered a large force of soldiers lead by several Cult priests and mages heading for Darkhorn Castle.
He returned back to the castle to warn his comrades. When he had revealed his news, they planned to ambush the attackers. They made a very cunning plan (according to themselves). When they where ready, they could only wait.
The Cultist force arrived about 20 minutes after they had finished discussing their plans, and the first part of the ambush worked very well. They lured a part of the force to follow them into the ruins, and took out all the soldiers and a few priests. Now it was time for two of them to split and attack the Cultists from the back. However, they discovered that the Cultists had left a rear guard and now the battle became very chaotic. Lyam managed to polymorph one warrior commander into a snake, but the warrior had drunk a potion of flying a minute earlier. Instead of being trapped in the dungeons of the ruins, he could fly up and attack Lyam. Lyam, who has phobia against snakes, was paralyzed with fear, and it looked like the end of the heroes.
However, the Harpers in the Moonshaes knew about the four heroes, and with aid from Flamsterd, they could appear on the battle scene and save the day.
The fight had only ended, when the newly arrivals told the four Harpers that haste was of utmost importance now, if the Dark Druid really was going for the Moonwell in Myrloch Vale. The leader of the Harper band, one Elrynn Tharr, knew of a gate that would take them all to the foot of the mountains close to a tunnel that lead straight through the mountains into the Vale.
The whole band marched off to the gate. There the four was given some magical aid in the battle to come, before everyone went through the gate.
