Dark Druid
In Darkest Woods
The four Harpers are declared heroes by the Lord and the local populace, and Lord Cauldyth hoasts a feast for the four heroes. During this feast they learn a bit more about the Cult and the Dark Druid. They also hear about the kidnapped Chaunteans, and they promises that they will seek the culprits and if possible free the priests.
After the feast, a Moonshaean bard by name Rowan Inconna romances Callista and they have a very pleasant night together. Lethallien becomes smitten by the Lordīs youngest daughter Rhiara and spends the night with her.
The next day, 6th of Mirtul, they get up just before twilight, having slept almost all day. They decide that they will leave for the Wild Woods in three days, as Richard has pressing business he wants to do first. He is gone for almost two days, and he casts three oakheart spells and a commune with nature spell. From the later he learns that something evil has festered in the woods.
On Mirtul 9, they enter the Wild Woods, bolstered by Rowan the bard. Almost immediately they were ambushed by brigands, but they defeat them easily. The prisoner they take tells them that they were hired by a Cultist and that they were to kill the four adventurers and keep any loot they found.
After this they become a bit more cautious, but they met nothing but animals for the remainder of the day. When they discover the ruin of an old wayhouse, they decide to spend the night in the ruins. Shortly after dark they are attacked, and everything seems wrong. They manages to defeat the attackers, and discovers that the attackers was dopplegangers. The rest of the night is quiet.
The next day they continues east, and a few hours from twilight they encounter traps on the trail. Soon thereafter they reach the Dark Grove.
They learn very quickly why it is called the Dark Grove, as a small horde of undead steps out of the shadows of the trees. It seemed that they came in time, as they interrupted a ritual the priests was doing. Here they fight with a bit of desperation, but manages to defeat all the undead and the three cult priests that lives here. When the last priest dies, he tells the Harpers that the Dark Druid will defile the greatest Moonwell and Almighty Bane will return to his new kingdom.
The three kidnapped Chaunteans are all alive and quite well for having been held prisoners of Bane priests. High Harvestmaster Haern explains to the Harpers what the cult priest meant with his last words. The greatest moonwell is a sacred pool to the Earthmother, and it is found in Myrloch Vale on the island of Gwynneth.
