There are plenty of mailing lists, news groups and forums devoted to the Forgotten Realms on the www. Here you can find some of these.
If you know of a forum, newsgroup, chat or any other community that should be listed here, please send it in.
Mailing Lists
Realms-L Mailing List
WotC maintains the largest FR mailing list, with a volume of 100+ mails per day. It is monitored and several of WotCs FR Team hangs around there as well.
To subscribe, you need only to send a mail to listserv@oracle.wizards.com with "SUBSCRIBE REALMS-L YOUR NAME HERE" in the body (or just click the link).
If you don't want to handle the large load of mails, you can subscribe in digest mode. When you have subscribed to the list, send a mail to listserv@oracle.wizards.com with "SET REALMS-L DIGEST" in the body.
If you are on digest and want posts directly again, send a mail to listserv@oracle.wizards.com with "SET REALMS-L NODIGEST" in the body.
Before you post to the list, read the Realms-L FAQ to learn the few rules and to avoid posting about something inappropriate or which has already been discussed on the list.
The list is archived at WotCs website, containing mails dated from 01/01/00.
If you haven't received any posts for some time, go to this site to see if the list is down. The monitors/moderator will post information here about the list status.
FRDMing Mailing List
This mailing list is mainly for DMs in the Forgotten Realms, but players are welcome too. You can find more information at http://www.egroups.com/group/FRDMing.
FR Atlas Mailing List
A mailing list dedicated to FR Interactive Atlas. More information can be found at http://www.egroups.com/group/FRAtlas.

Newsgroups
The major newsgroup for Forgotten Realms can be found at WotCs news server, cipher.wizards.com. There you can also find several other newsgroups about D&D and other related topics.
Another Realms newsgroup is deja.comm.forgottenrealms.
Chats
WotC maintains several chats for the D&D game, including one for the Forgotten Realms. You need to download and install the chat-software before you can join. More information can be found here. |
