Its amazing that a 1 in a million chance happens 9 out of 10 times. |

I don't have a regular campaign anymore. The Sunday Knights broke up after I threw some dice and a major tantrum. I wasn't really mad at any of them, just suffering from undiagnosed pain-related depression.
Lately all I've done is one-shots and demo games. The one shots range from a 1E adventure in honor of Gary Gygax's passing to 3.5 for a smalll game con. The demo games have been hapening at my local hobby shop, mostly Pathfinder (by Paizo), some 4E, and a couple of lesser known systems.
If I can manage it, my goal for 2010 is to reestablish a regular campaign - either 3.5 or Pathfinder. My hope is to get at least a core group of the Sunday Knights back to the table, assuming they'll have me as DM. Otherwise, I'll improvise. |

No tabletop rp'ing anymore. All my campaigners either got married and/or are full-time career hounds now.
But beautiful memories remain, and we have (what we call) "epic" moments that always do and will always come up when we get together. Let me give you a snip (just 'cause I got time and got very bored at work)
We are introducing a new PC to our already established band of good-doers, and (mind you, this is happening in 2001 or 2 in our good ol' 2nd ed. days) a new barbarian pc is joining our group at midnight, as the group is camped, and the sentry is a very gruff NG shield dwarf fighter. as our barbarian pc steps into the campfield, our Azuth specialist priest awakens (and is aware from omens that "his" personal savior will be joining them soon (he is half-demon blooded, and is in all respects a doomed champion).
As the barbarian who has just been robbed by a band of orcs, steps into the light, he brandishes his two-handed great axe (because he is robbed NAKED!), the dwarf fighter jumps up in alarm, and eyes him defiantly. The Azuthian priest (who loves shindigs basically) watches in amusement, lights up a pipe and nudges the others up, the dwarf says "Who goes there?"
The pissed-off barbarian replies "Not your momma surely, short stuff..."
They have a staredown for a minute or so.
The priest says "You know, we've been expecting him..."
The dwarf breaks the ice by saying "Nice... axe."
"Same to you too."
"Though you should be clothed."
"Naah. A loincloth and an axe is all I need."
The last phrase has become his catchphrase, as my friend is quite like the barbarian he played. Likes to go with minimal clothing, is tall beyond normal human measure...
Aaaaah good times. Well, long post with no goal, here I go. Unfortunate, but I hope you wont hate me. |
