Hey guys,
I was just wondering how everyone is liking the 4th edition now that it has been out for a while. My group loves it, and we are having a great time.
How do you guys like it? |

| I'm afraid I haven't tried 4E yet Aldaron. My gaming group just isn't interested. Righht now, Redlord is running several of Goodman Games 3.5 classic advedtures, and we're happy with that. |

Sorry I hate it.
Too simplistic for me, and 3.5 is simple enough.
3.5 is the bench mark and 4th failed to reach it, but saying that new gamers would likely love it. |
Its amazing that a 1 in a million chance happens 9 out of 10 times. |

My group alternates gaming sessions between 3.5 and 4. I prefer 3.5 bercause 4 seems to be very limiting in what a character can do.

Very interesting comments guys. Do you find 3.5 more "deep"? We basically skipped over 3.5 on our way to 4e from the 2nd edition. Do you folks recommend 3.5? If so, can you give me some examples as to why? I would love to get some feedback. Thx. |

3.5 has its flaws but form what I have seen of 4th it has more skills and more races to play and more classes.
I really have not looked too much at 4th, so it is really a case of I like 3.5 as a combat system.
you might have issues getting all the books now for 3.5.

I like that 3.5 actually has spells as opposed to how they are done in 4.0. Most of my fellow players are heavy into character customization and so far character archetypes don't seem to have much room to play around with.
In 3.0 you have feats and skills you can use all teh time. In 4.0 you get stuff you can use once per encounter or once per day and usually it's not nearly as good as what you could do all the time with good skill selection in 3.5.
I don't know. 3.0/3.5 is like a warm worn in pair of gloves while 4.0 feels like a new pair of shoes for church. I'll be 4.0ing it up tomorrow night so I'll provide more feedback and maybe some specifics like what the 4.0 character did vs what a 3.5 would do in that situation. |

We ended up playing the Zombies boardgame instead while waiting for some late stragglers.
