And whats the reason for your choice????
I think mine has to be Shadowdale, even though it's one of the earlier books. I like it as it captures the essence of the Forgotten realms world, gives insight into many of it's characters and I think that it's written well.

| I think I enjoyed most the last mythal-series, I love all the books where Jaraxle shows up and I liked the Spider-Queen-Books (I thought the start was better than the end - but never mind) |

The Sellwords Trilogy was particularly enjoyable. I like the relationship between Jarlaxle and Entreri, and I am also very partial to the Bloodstone lands. |

| My favorite would be Elminster in Myth Drannor, mostly because I really like the concept of Myth Drannor and that it was tragically lost despite many efforts to prevent it. |

| I'm torn between the Pools Trilogy (Radiance, Darkness and Twilight) by Jim Ward and the Cleric Quintet by RAS. Both are excellent series with strong charatcers and neither series makes any serious, long lasting changes to the Realms. |

I like most all of the FR books. My favorites were the HArper series (surprise) and the few books where the good guy gets to treat bad guys...badly, without some one moaning or crying about " being just like them".

Mine would be:
Darkwalker on Moonshae
It was around the time I first started playing FR and I read this book during my first couple of RP sessions. It really set the tone for the last 20 years gaming for me. Obviously it was the first book published as well so for me it is the "original" FR novel. |

elaine cunninghams Counselors and Kings trilogy (a trilogy is just one long book :) ) between the beautiful writing and the progression of events and characters, this series hits all the notes of a good adventure chord.
though i must admit, the erevis cale trilogy (and the preceding sembia series) is pretty catching as well |

| I've always been partial to the Thousand Orcs, just because it was my first FR book I ever read. |

| Not exactly the most original or the most diverse, but I have to say the Drizzt books by RAS. The Hunters Blade Trilogy tops em for me. But besides that... the Erevis books are really holding me in thrall at the moment. |

Oddly, this was the first series I read, after I joined a FR group. I didn't realize they were in the distant past! "Where are the flying cities!?!"
They were cools books, though archaic for gaming standards.
"The War of the Spider Queen" was a good series. I liked that the books had varying tones since different authors wrote each.

| I started out with the Legend of Drizzt Series and i'd have to say that if I had to pick a favorite FR Series it would be the legends of Drizzt. The book would have to be Siege of Darkness. |

| No idea what the first FR novel I read was, it was a little while ago now. Possibility the first Drizzt book? As far as favourite (it changes but) i'd have to say the cleric quintet series |

| i would have to say the first Spellfire book with the knights of Myth Drannor. i think all the verbal fencing and good heartedness just sets the book off. |
